Charleston native Anna Mathias has been studying cello for over 19 years. She attended Charleston County School of the Arts where she studied music and was the principal cellist in the school’s symphony orchestra. During this time, she was also the principal cellist of the Youth Orchestra of the Lowcountry. Mathias has performed in numerous ensembles and chamber music groups. She has also performed onstage with the Trans Siberian Orchestra and Michael Bublé. Mathias graduated from University of South Carolina with a major in Public Relations and minor in Fashion Merchandising.
Claire Gottshalk has always had a love for music, but she knew she wanted to become a violinist when she was only 4 years old. She began taking lessons at age 7 and has been studying violin for over 12 years. Gottshalk is a graduate of Charleston County School of the Arts, where she majored in violin. She is currently finishing college and plans to earn her degree in Business Management. In addition to playing the violin, she has played the piano for 14 years, sings in the choir at her church, and also sings for weddings. Gottshalk and Mathias have been playing weddings and other events together for 10 years.
